Leading Ladies – Strong ladies, strong relationships

Every quarter Cathérine Meert, Retail Manager Tech Data BeLux, gathers strong women from the retail market for an informal networking activity and a dinner. Each time she invites a different supplier and a number of partners from the reseller channel. Together they form the ‘Leading Ladies’!

A range of activities were organised in the previous months: a visit to the Belgian La Lorraine bakery group, a skid course, an introduction to the Krav Maga self-defence system, and a private tour of the Jumeaux atelier in Dendermonde where exclusive Belgian bags are made by hand. In February, they visited the Terre Bleue clothing factory in Ghent and dined at the ‘Au Bain Marie’ restaurant.

We asked Cathérine what it was about the programme that made it a success.

‘Everything revolves around “strong relationships, stronger business”. This informal manner of networking with the Leading Ladies of the Belgian retail market leads to many deals and business opportunities for sellers that were not otherwise possible because they did not have the right connections with the retailers.”

That the partners think it is a winner is also confirmed by the response of Kathleen Ercken (Sales Leader Benelux – Consumer Products Residio) from our vendor Honeywell after the latest event in Ghent: ‘Thank you all for the really pleasant and interesting evening!’
