New Strategic Collaboration Agreement with AWS in Europe

Tech Data Announces New Strategic Collaboration Agreement with AWS in Europe

Joint investment accelerates AWS adoption among SMB end customers across region

Tech Data announced a new strategic collaboration agreement (SCA) with Amazon Web Services (AWS). Through the agreement, Tech Data and AWS will jointly invest in resources and expertise focused on enabling companies to accelerate their own digital business transformations and offer an enhanced range of AWS cloud computing services to small and medium-sized business (SMB) end customers across Europe.

This multi-year agreement will see Tech Data create dedicated local AWS sales and technical teams in each of its countries in Europe. These local teams will work in unison with a strong central team, comprising solutions architects and services experts as well as resources dedicated to marketing and project management.

Tech Data will reinforce its existing AWS offerings with a comprehensive range of professional and managed services and multi-vendor solutions with AWS at the core. The distributor’s StreamOne platform for cloud subscriptions, renewals and billing will play a central role in enabling companies across the region to bring solutions to market quickly and efficiently. In addition, Tech Data will implement AWS-specific enablement paths – including business maturity assessment, training and solution development – that will provide partners with the tools, knowledge and resources in order to quickly accelerate their AWS cloud practices.

The collaboration is already live in UK, Italy, Turkey, and Spain and will roll out across the rest of Tech Data’s European footprint in the coming quarters.

Patrick Zammit, president, Europe, at Tech Data said: “This is a ground-breaking and transformative agreement. AWS and Tech Data’s shared goal is to digitally empower SMBs across the region, helping them grow and innovate faster and better serve their customers. Our collaboration enables end-customers to realize the benefits of AWS, including improved security, cost-efficiency, reliability, innovation, and accelerated time-to-market thanks to pre-packaged solutions provided by the Tech Data Cloud Solutions Factory for AWS.”

“We are delighted to be working with Tech Data to enable channel partners across Europe to support the business and digital transformation needs of SMBs,” said Amanda Sleight, SI Partner Lead, AWS. “This collaboration brings together AWS’s cloud services and Tech Data’s network so that SMBs can focus on innovation, drive business growth, and remain competitive in today’s digital economy.”

Will Dexter, vice president, sales, EMEA at Cintra Corporation, a Tech Data partner, welcomed the news of the SCA with AWS. “Cintra has worked to develop our SQL and Oracle services offering on AWS. Tech Data’s expertise and support have enabled us to maximise our opportunity with AWS, first by achieving AWS Advanced Consulting Partner status and now by becoming a member of AWS’s Database Freedom program. Tech Data’s StreamOne platform has allowed Cintra to add value to our customers through cost optimisation policies, gaining control and reducing shadow IT. Our partnership with Tech Data has assisted in AWS becoming a strategic vendor for Cintra.”
